Handler Training Courses
At Excel K-9 Services Inc., we believe our Handler Training Courses are critical to the successful placement and deployment of any Executive Family Protection Dog. These training courses are designed to ensure that the handler understands their K-9’s capabilities, and can use them in an effective, confident, competent manner.
On Campus Handler Training Course*
Near the completion of your dog’s training, we invite handlers and their families to join us, on campus, for a hands on/in person, participation training course. This course will introduce the handler/family to their dog; teach the handler(s) basic dog care and grooming; and train the handler(s) to control and deploy their K-9.
- Introduction to your dog
- Dog grooming, care, & feeding
- Handler commands
- Basic & advanced obedience (on leash/off leash)
- Real world scenario training
- Handler Level 1, &/or Level 2**, &/or Level 3** protection/guarding training
- Basic Firearm training (available only for Level 2 Security Training** and Level 3 Security Training**)
- Advanced Firearm training (available only for Level 3 Security Training**)
In-Home Training Course
Upon completion of your dog’s training, we will schedule your dog’s delivery and invite handlers, their families, & household staff to join us for our In-Home Training Course. This course is designed to acclimate your K-9 to its new home; introduce the dog to your family, staff, and pets; and to teach the handler, family, & staff to control and deploy their dog’s training.
The course includes:
- Introduction of your dog to family/staff/pets
- Acclimatization of dog to residence, property, work, secondary residence, school, etc.
- Review of dog grooming, care, & feeding
- Instillation/placement of kennel & lodging
- Review of handler commands
- Review of basic & advanced obedience (on leash/off leash)
- Real world scenario and location training customized to your residence, property, vehicles, neighborhood, and your lifestyle/security needs (work, secondary residence, school, travel, errands)
- Review handler Level 1, &/or Level 2**, &/or Level 3** protection/guarding training
* Handler/Family travel & lodging expenses not included.
